            Introduction Shri Guru Gobind Singhji (SGGS) Institute of Engineering and Technology,Nanded (Formerly, SGGS College of Engineeringand Technology, Nanded) is fully Governmentfunded institute set up by Government ofMaharashtra in 1981. The institute has startedfunctioning as an autonomous institute fromacademic year 2004-2005. It is approved by the AllIndia council for Technical Education (AICTE),Government of India. SGGS was selected underprestigious TEQIP program of World Bank. The SGGS Institute of Engineering andtechnology has the privilege of being one of the selected few to be offered total autonomy: academic,financial and administrative.
             The institute is headed by Shri B.N. Kalyani, an eminent industrialist, and Chairman and MD,Bharat Forge Ltd., as Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG). The BOG also consists ofrenowned industrialists and academicians as well as senior administrative cadre officials fromGovernment.
             The SGGS Institute of Engineering and Technology enjoys a sprawling campus of over 46acres, and is permanently affiliated to Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University,Nanded.
             The Institute has a three pronged agenda - teaching, research,transfer of knowledge toindustry and society. Qualified and experienced teachers impart high quality education to students while encouraging them to pursue their innovative ideas by providing an environment conducive for continuous learning and development.
            
Present Status of Academic courses:

This institute offers a graduation and post graduation courses in the various disciplines likeInstrumentation, Electronics and Telecommunication and Computer Science Engineering,Information Technology, Production Technology, Civil-Water Management, Chemical Engineering and Textile Technology. It is also a recognized research centre for carrying outthe research leading to the doctorate degree in Engineering and Technology.
